Earl Moore, Studio Instructor

I originally thought of the Part of the Music concept in the winter of 2002-2003 and began actively working on it in the spring of 2003. Below is my [humble] bio and relevant musical background.

I am 35 years old and live in New Hope, MN. I moved to Minnesota in April, 1995 to accept a job transfer with Blockbuster Video. During the next 4 years, my career lead me from Blockbuster to Musicland Group, into a job that required 75% travel. Although this was certainly exciting and provided many opportunities, it came with a great musical expense.

After accepting a promotion at Musicland, I stopped traveling and was again able to find a way to contribute in the area of church music. I joined Lake Harriet Christian Church as choir director and organist. After five years at Lake Harriet, I decided to move in a different direction, so I currently serve as substitute accompanist.

While working at the Best Buy corporate headquarters in Richfield, MN, I returned to college to finish my undergraduate degree. Thanks to the support of my family and friends, I'm happy to say that I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science degree in business in June, 2004. In 2008, I started my Masters in Information Technology and Project Management.

These days, I'm always doing projects around the house, experimenting with new gadgets, and working on new music endeavors. Examples include arranging medleys of 10 Sherman Brothers songs for 5-part voice and piano for a local theatre production. In November 2005 I served as accompanist for One Voice Mixed Chorus for their "Road Less Traveled" tour in Southern Minnesota. What an awesome experience! I now serve as assistant accompanist, tenor section leader, and on the board of directors as Immediate Past Co-chair.

I teach a few students, work, and relax in my spare time. With some occasional exceptions, I join my piano mentor each week for conversation and duets. I am also writing some original compositions. I enjoy my Part of the Music!
