Mar. 2007 - Taking lessons from Earl has been very enjoyable. He is encouraging and patient and very flexible. He cares about his students and wants the best for them. He makes sure you are feeling challenged and wants you to feel positive about learning. I have learned to listen and look at music in a new way. I have a new appreciation for musicians because I now realize how very difficult and complex making music sound musical is.
I like the fact that I can look back at a book and think that I have actually played all of the pieces in them! I actually learned them pretty much by myself. It gives me much self-confidence and makes me feel great. I love hearing the sounds of a piano in my home. Earl is a positive, extremely talented and knowledgeable teacher. He is encouraging and easy-going and very patient. He has a real love of music and it shows. He does not just want you to learn the notes and how to play them, he wants them to sound the best that they can and he teaches you how to do that.

Nov. 2005 - It was an honor working with you during the past few weeks. You are a gifted accompanist and musician and were a real gift to us this weekend. We were lucky to have you. Thank you so much.
From Karin:
Nov. 2005 - Earl is a great teacher for me because he understands my life - he doesn't guilt me about practicing, he is never harsh. His style of teaching makes me excited about learning. I find I want to practice and get the most out of my lessons because of Earl's relaxed, comfortable teaching style. I have learned (and am still learning) chords, understanding patterns in music, voicing and I am growing in the ability to experience music, not just play notes.
Earl really "stretches" me, choosing pieces that teach me exactly what I need to learn. He conveys a great confidence in my ability to play things I would never try on my own. He is a very gifted musician and shares a seemingly unending wealth of knowledge at each session. Taking lessons with Earl is one of the best investments I make.
From Regenia:
Nov. 2005 - All of my lessons are in a relaxed atmosphere; that puts me in the mood to learn. I am always looking forward to my next lesson. I never thought that I would be able to read music. Earl has taught me music theory which has made it easy for me to read musical notes. I am amazed at the how much I have learned in such a short time. I can now play the music that I love to sing. I am having fun while learning about chord symbols, chord progression and the magic they are creating in my life.
Earl provides me with lots of encouragement, support, motivation and most of all, FUN! He is qualified to teach both children and adults; and music theory is a must. He is a wonderful teacher who provides everything that you need be an accomplished pianist.
